COVID-19 Update

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR ALL STAFF, FAMILIES, VISITORS AND CONTRACTORS

The Eskleigh Foundation Inc. is committed to ensuring that our facilities are as safe as possible. Eskleigh Home (Perth) houses 36 residents, many of which have complex health conditions and are highly vulnerable to COVID-19. More than 90% of our residents are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and Eskleigh is complying with recent Government legislation, which mandates compulsory vaccination for disability support workers, nurses and other Eskleigh staff that may come into close contact with residents.

Given the vulnerability of our residents, Eskleigh will be introducing additional policies and safeguards to protect residents and staff, in preparation for the opening of state borders on Wednesday December 15.

From December 15, visitors (including immediate family and guardians) and contractors will be required to provide proof of full vaccination for COVID-19. Entry to the residence will not be authorised unless proof of full vaccination is validated.

Proof of vaccination will be validated by the following means:

  • Hard copy of a vaccination certificate

  • Photo of vaccination certificate

  • Via the Tas Check In App – where visitors have linked their vaccination certificate to the app

  • Via MyGov

  • Or any other means that sufficiently validates vaccination

For family members, friends and guardians who cannot provide proof of vaccination, there will be a visitation room set up in the Hargraves Room at Eskleigh House to meet with residents – however, masks and any other PPE (as directed by staff) will need to be worn. We would appreciate if people could contact reception to schedule a visit (under this arrangement) ahead of time to ensure availability. The visitation room will be cleaned and sanitised after each visit.

We will also be contacting suppliers to work through arrangements for contactless delivery and validating vaccination for contractors that carry out services on a regular basis.

As we open the border and begin living with COVID, there will be scenarios that require Eskleigh to implement further measures to keep our residents and staff safe. We will apply a fluid and pragmatic approach to managing these scenarios, as we have throughout the pandemic.

If you have any questions about this communication, please contact the Eskleigh team
